About Lavonia Elementary School

The mission of Lavonia Elementary School in partnership with the community is to provide a quality education that allows every child to meet his/her potential.

Lavonia Elementary School is located at 818 Hartwell Road and serves students in grades K-5. It has been at its present location since 1992, after many years at 84 Hartwell Road. The school building is dedicated in honor of Lavonia resident and former Governor, Ernest Vandiver. In 2007 Governor's Office of Student Achievement recognized LES as a Silver Award Winner for Greatest Gain Students Meeting and Exceeding Standards. A large percentage of LES faculty hold advanced degrees. The school has an active and growing PTO. We have many parent volunteers in both the classrooms and in the media center. A Parent Resource Center is also available, which includes free materials for parents.
